Barista / FOH Team Member

We are currently looking for hard-working, punctual, self-starters, to join our team as Barista/Front of House Team Member. This position interfaces with the bakery’s customers – a mix between faithful NYC residents and enthusiastic Chelsea Market visitors. Pastries make people smile, and it is critical our team members have a warm, hospitable attitude and temperament, and enjoy making people happy :)

Responsibilities and Duties

-  Take orders via the Square point-of-sale system in an efficient and courteous manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- Be a kind, respectful and patient
- Be a team player and operate with a sense of urgency
- Ensure food and beverage products are packaged properly and presented to customers graciously
- Communicate clearly and in a friendly manner while acting responsively to customer needs
- Keep work area clean, organized and stocked
-  Other related responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

-  A minimum of a 2+ year of relevant food and beverage industry experience
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment that also has periods of slowness that require proactivity
- Clean and neat with great attention to detail
- Great communicator
- Ability to be on one's feet for an extended period of time
- Must be punctual, reliable, and *able to work mornings and weekends*
- WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS A MUST
-  Must be open and willing to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour + tips

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
